Lithium Borohydride
CAS No 16949-15-8
Application / Uses Preparation Lithium borohydride is a tetrahydroborate and known in organic synthesis as a reducing agent for esters. Although less common than the related sodium borohydride, the lithium salt offers some advantages of being highly soluble in ethers and being a stronger reducing agent but still safer to handle than lithium aluminium hydride.
Application / Uses Preparation Borohydrides are excellent ligands for metal ions. In most such compounds, the BH4- ligand is bidentate. The binary borohydrides containing only BH4- ligands are often fairly volatile. One example is uranium borohydride.

Application / Uses Preparation ethyl bromide, is a chemical compound of the haloalkanes group. It is abbreviated by chemists as EtBr. This volatile compound has an ether-like odour
Application / Uses Preparation Lithium bromide, or LiBr, is a chemical compound of lithium and bromine. Its extreme hygroscopic character makes LiBr useful as a desiccant in certain air conditioning systems
Application / Uses Preparation Potassium bromide (KBr) is a salt, widely used as an anticonvulsant and a sedative in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Its action is due to the bromide ion (sodium bromide is equally effective). Potassium bromide is presently used as a veterinary drug, as an antiepileptic medication for dogs and cats.
Application / Uses Preparation Sodium bromide is an inorganic compound with the formula NaBr. It is a high-melting white, crystalline solid that resembles sodium chloride. It is a widely used source of the bromide ion and has many applications.
Application / Uses Preparation methyl bromide, is an organobromine compound with formula CH3Br. This colorless, odorless, nonflammable gas is produced both industrially and particularly biologically. It is a recognized ozone-depleting chemical. It was used extensively as a pesticide until being phased out by most countries in the early 2000s
